1. APPLICATIONS

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality reserves the right to reject incomplete and non-compliant applications. Each application will be evaluated considering the rainwater collection area and garden.

 

2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The installation of a rain garden is deemed suitable under the following conditions:

1. You must be the owner of the property where the rain garden is installed or have the authority related to the property. A copy of the title deed or a power of attorney issued by a notary indicating your authorization must be submitted during the application.

2. For citizens who reside in an apartment or housing complex, if they are the administrator, a copy of the relevant page of the condominium decision book certifying their position must be provided along with the application. In case the application is accepted, a decision taken by the apartment owners by majority vote will also be requested separately.

3. Applications will be deemed ineligible under the following conditions:

4. Rain gardens suitable according to the prioritized criteria in the informational guide will be selected by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.

 

3. RAIN GARDEN INSPECTION MECHANISM

The garden area of the applied location will be visited before the installation of the rain garden, and the conditions stated in the form will be inspected.

Citizens who wish to benefit from the incentive system will be registered by the authorized administrative unit and will be monitored within the scope of the monitoring system.

 

4. OBLIGATIONS

1. By submitting this application, I confirm that I am the legal property owner as shown in the title deed or that I have obtained permission from the property owner to modify the landscaping.

2. I agree to perform routine maintenance on the rain garden or other rainwater controls.

3. I grant permission to the Municipality to conduct field inspections of my rainwater system at mutually acceptable times.

4. I acknowledge that the Izmir Rain Gardens project established in my garden serves as an example for the city of Izmir.

5. I understand that the Municipality has the authority to inspect and oversee the installation and design of the rain garden on my property. I am solely responsible for the installation and operation of the rain garden on my property.

6. The Municipality is not liable for any injury, loss, flooding, or other damages arising from the installed rain garden or rainwater control on my property.

7. By accepting the incentive system, I waive and exempt the Municipality from any claims, lawsuits, or liabilities arising from the installation and function of the rain garden on my property.

8. As a condition of participating in the incentive system, I agree that if necessary, my rain garden may be photographed by the Municipality for documentation and promotional purposes.

 

5. CONFIDENTIALITY

By filling out this application form, you acknowledge that you voluntarily provide the information in your application. This form is collected by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for the purpose of evaluating eligibility, as regulated by the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 published in Official Gazette No. 29677. The sharing of the information in this application document with authorized personnel assigned by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality may be included.

 

6. DECLARATION OF THE APPLICANT

I have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions of the Rain Gardens application form.

I declare that all the information provided in the application form and accompanying documents is correct at the time of writing, and I undertake to fulfill all the obligations imposed on me by the application form without any omissions.
