1. APPLICATIONS

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality reserves the right to reject incomplete and non-compliant applications. Each application will be evaluated based on the rainwater collection area and tank area.

 

2. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

The installation of a rainwater tank is considered appropriate under the following conditions:

1. You must be the owner of the property where the rainwater tank is installed or have the necessary authorization related to the property. A copy of the title deed or a power of attorney indicating your authorization from a notary must be provided during the application.

2. If the applicant intends to benefit from the incentive system and resides in an apartment or a residential site, they must provide a copy of the relevant page of the condominium meeting minutes, proving their status as the building manager. In case the application is accepted, a decision taken by the majority of the apartment owners will also be required.

4. The components of the rainwater collection line must meet the criteria specified in the rainwater regulations.

5. Citizens who meet the eligibility criteria will be charged an annual usage fee of 50 TL (Fifty Turkish Liras) as per the decision of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Council.

 

3. RAINWATER TANK AND COLLECTION LINE INSPECTION MECHANISM

Before the installation of the tank, the location specified in the application will be visited, and the conditions stated in the form will be inspected.

Citizens who wish to benefit from the incentive system will be registered by the authorized administrative unit and will be monitored as part of the water monitoring system.

 

4. OBLIGATIONS

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality shall not be held responsible for any claims, losses, or damages arising from the consumption or use of water from any rainwater tank or rainwater storage system included in the incentive program, or any claims or damages related to them.

The water stored through rainwater harvesting does not comply with the provisions of the "Regulation on Waters Intended for Human Consumption" published in the Official Gazette dated 17.02.2005. As this directly concerns human health, the applicant acknowledges that the stored water will not be used for human consumption. In case of the contrary, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality bears no responsibility.

The responsibility for any liability and compensation that may arise from the tank lid being left open, failure to perform necessary maintenance, failure to install filters, improper installation of the system, and any other reason against third parties lies with the applicant.

If the applicant decides to discontinue the use of the rainwater tank for any reason, they undertake to return the tank to the Metropolitan Municipality. If the tank is not returned or cannot be found during inspections, the applicant agrees and undertakes to pay the current value of the tank to Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. In case of non-payment, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality reserves the right to resort to legal measures.

 

5. CONFIDENTIALITY

By completing this application form, you voluntarily provide the information in your application. This form is collected by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for the purpose of evaluating the eligibility of the application, in accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data, which came into force by being published in the Official Gazette numbered 29677. The sharing of the information in this application document with authorized personnel appointed by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality may be included.

 

6. DECLARATION OF APPLICANT

I declare that all information provided in this application form and accompanying documents is true and accurate at the time of writing, and I agree to fulfill all obligations imposed on me by the application form without any omissions.
