Project Detail

Gaziemir Fire Department Rainwater Harvesting Project

As part of the SpongeCity İzmir Project, a rainwater harvesting project has been implemented in the area belonging to the Gaziemir Fire Department group, which includes a vehicle park with a roof area of 240 m² and an administrative building with a roof area of 200 m². The rainwater harvested from the roof of the vehicle park area is stored in the existing pool within the project area. The rainwater collected from the roof of the administrative building is gathered using a 5-ton polyethylene rainwater tank and then transferred to a filtration system. The Gaziemir Fire Department Rainwater Tank consists of two filtration units capable of filtration and one packaged hydrophore. The water passing through the filtration system is conveyed to the network system for use in purposes such as hand and face washing, showering, and cleaning within the administrative building. The project aims to harvest approximately 250 tons of rainwater annually.
