In the Atatürk Neighborhood of Buca District, on 202/58 Street and surrounding areas, rainwater flowing with heavy rainfall causes flooding, particularly in the lower elevations of the basin. The project aims to implement green infrastructure techniques that work in integration with the existing infrastructure to retain rainwater flowing on streets and avenues during heavy rainfall and to prevent flooding. With these implementations, flooding will be prevented, and the planned revisions to the rainwater drainage system will no longer be necessary. Techniques such as cut curbs, grated cut curbs, rainwater infiltration pools, rainwater infiltration ditches, and flood drainage wells implemented in the project area will enable the collection, bio-filtration, and underground infiltration of 470 tons of rainwater daily in the ditch areas. The flood drainage well will directly convey excess rainwater to the underground aquifer. The drainage well drilled within the ditch is 40 meters deep and infiltrates approximately 6.5 tons of water per hour underground.
