One of the first pilot applications of the Sponge City Izmir Project, the rainwater storage tanks of Çamkıran Sitesi collect rainwater from the roof of a building with an area of 300 square meters in the site. With 2 tanks, each with a volume of 3 tons, the residents of the site actively engage in rainwater harvesting, using the harvested rainwater for garden irrigation and site/apartment cleaning. Inspections have shown that the tanks are functioning smoothly, and there is a considerable accumulation of clean water with each rainfall.
